Over 2018 I have committed to pushing myself to get out of my comfort zone and shake things up personally and professionally and I have been amazed to see what I’ve learnt from these experiences. This got me thinking what would happen if we all committed to getting out of our comfort zone and tried something new and in turn, it boosted our career. I know you are probably thinking “Kate, I’m so busy as it is; when do I have time to try something new, exciting or challenging?” Trust me, I could easily say the same, with the demands of running a business with only a small team behind me and also being a mother to an almost 3-year-old, which makes life never dull or quiet. However, I always say to people in this situation “You make time for things that are important to you.”A few ways I have been able to get out of my comfort zone;Always be open to new opportunities that come to youSay “YES” to things, even if they scare youMake time for what excites you and sets your soul of fireI have tried a number of new things this year from modelling for a friends clothing line, starting a YouTube channel, setting up events for charities and pubic speaking as a community ambassador for RUOK charity to becoming a mentor to others in my industry. I have done it all while running my business and being a mum. I love everything I have learnt from all these experiences and doing these things has helped me have more energy, focus and determination for my own business too.I challenge you to get out of your comfort zone and try something new today.Kate Taylor – Founder & Managing Director – TaylorCare Recruitment
