The above quote is a powerful thought; we need to have the courage to action our dreams so we can reach our full potential. As an eternal optimist, I always see the dream ahead and get the vision to action but when roadblocks or challenges come it really hits me hard. It’s hard not to take it personally when challenges come my way within my business. After all, I have invested my heart, soul and finances to ensure my business is a success. Even in our dream jobs, we can have hard days, the difference is they are worth it!One thing I’ve noticed since living my dream of having my own business is that our dreams won’t always be an easy, happy place where you can see rainbows and sunshine every day. Often, it’s the long hours and sacrificing time with loved ones to get the next deal done that your true courage is tested and our inner strength is found. This doesn’t mean we are failing or our dream isn’t what we thought it is, it just means that to live our dream we must take steps each day to make our dream a reality.I have learnt over the last 4 years in business that we have seasons where we are on top of the world, kicking goals and making a difference but other seasons where we are tested to our full capacity to keep going. I try to use the challenging situations and seasons to shape me as a person and as a business and learn what I can from every challenge. It’s easy to get overwhelmed in the challenging seasons but as a wise mentor once told me “get up into a helicopter and look down on your business – what do you see? What could you be doing better? Where can you improve?” Having an outside perspective and looking down on your business can be the best thing for you. Trust me it’s helped me numerous times.A personal quote I can defiantly relate to is from Nelson Mandela.“I learn that courage is not the albescence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who doesn’t feel afraid but he who conquers that fear” Nelson MandelaIf you are needing courage over fear on your journey to living your dream in business and you’re working long hours, tired nights and early morning your grind is precious. Keep going!
