What would you do if you knew you could not fail?
I recently interviewed Jacqui Hoyes from the Sweetspotter and she shared this quote with me and how it inspired her to go out and start her own business six years ago. It’s fantastic to see where she is today for taking action on such a powerful question.
I want to ask you what would you would do if you knew you could not fail? Would you start a business? Would you run a marathon or enter an ironman competition? Would you start a new weight loss program? Would you study a new degree or a Masters in something you’re passionate about? Would you talk to your boss and share what your career path looks like and how you want to progress in your role? The possibilities are endless.
2019 for me is the year I maximise every day, and expand my capacity to take on new areas of business. I have started an online business in the health and wellness industry which I’m excited about as well. If we wait until everything is perfect in our life, I don’t think we would start or try anything new, as life never stops throwing us highs and lows. We need to adjust and pivot when needed to keep going after our dreams despite setbacks that come along the way.
Don’t be afraid to fail, be afraid to not try anything new. If you were to be in the same place you are right now in one year from now would you be satisfied? Would you be bored? Would you be excited to get up everyday and make a difference to those you meet? The start of a new year is a great time to reflect, plan and set new goals for a new year.
Make today count and take steps today to try something new!
